- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 5 whole allspice (2 tsp.)
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 4 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 oz. (1/2 sq.) unsweetened chocolate
- 4 cloves garlic (1/2 tsp. powder)
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 large bay leaf
- 5 whole cloves (2 tsp.)
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Method
- In a 4-quart saucepan, add ground beef to 1 quart water.
- Stir until the beef separates to a fine texture.
- Boil slowly 1/2 hour. Add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer for 3 hours.
- Refrigerate overnight.
