Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can sliced peaches
  • 1 stick oleo or butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 to 1 c. water

Method

  • Melt the oleo in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt together.
  • Add the milk to this mixture and stir as a cake batter.
  • Bring the water to a boil with the peaches.
  • Add the batter by spoonfuls to the melted (hot) oleo. Add the hot peaches on top of the batter.
  • Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until crust is brown.
  • Crust rises to the top.
