Ingredients
- 1 (No. 2) can sliced peaches
- 1 stick oleo or butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 to 1 c. water
Method
- Melt the oleo in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Mix the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Add the milk to this mixture and stir as a cake batter.
- Bring the water to a boil with the peaches.
- Add the batter by spoonfuls to the melted (hot) oleo. Add the hot peaches on top of the batter.
- Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until crust is brown.
- Crust rises to the top.
