Ingredients

  • 5 lb. hamburger, fried
  • 1/2 gal. catsup
  • 3/4 c. chili powder
  • 3/4 c. mustard
  • 1/8 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 chopped onion
  • parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage or hamburger
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices process cheese

Method

  • Combine tomato sauce, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Cook until thick, about 10 minutes.
  • Brown sausage; break into small pieces with a fork.
  • Spoon a tablespoonful of warm tomato sauce into each bun, then a spoonful of meat.
  • Top with a slice of cheese.
  • Brown open buns in hot oven (400°) for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Makes 6 servings.
