Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. cornbread mix (I use Martha White yellow cornbread mix)
  • 1 large can cream style corn
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 lb. ground beef, browned
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can chopped chilies
  • 2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 pkg Old English Sharp

Method

  • Mix together cornbread mix, corn and eggs.
  • Pour 1/2 cornbread mixture in 9X13 greased baking dish.
  • Add browned meat.
  • Add chilies on top of meat.
  • Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on meat and chilies.
  • Lay cheese slices on top of grated cheese.
  • Top with remaining cornbread mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees until brown (about 30-40 minutes).
