Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. cranberry juice
  • 1 c. cranberries, chopped in blender
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Cream together the sugars and butter.
  • Add egg, juice and cranberries.
  • Beat thoroughly.
  • Sift together dry ingredients; combine with egg mixture.
  • Fold in nuts.
  • Shape into rolls or squares 2-inches wide.
  • Wrap in aluminum foil or waxed paper and chill overnight or freeze.
  • Slice thin and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake in 375° oven for about 12 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
