Ingredients

  • 1 can cherry pie filling or 1 qt. applesauce
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (15 or 20 oz.)
  • 1 pkg. yellow or white cake mix
  • 1 c. melted butter
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • In a 9 x 13-inch pan, pour and spread pie filling or applesauce; next, pour and spread complete can of pineapple.
  • Make sure bottom of pan is covered, then sprinkle cake mix over mixture evenly.
  • Take the butter and dot the top of the cake mix until all butter is used.
  • Sprinkle with pecans (optional); cook approximately 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and cake is crunchy.
  • May be topped with Cool Whip.
