Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. vegetable shortening
- ice water (about 1/4 to 1/3 c.)
Method
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Cut in shortening with two knives or a pastry blender until it is cut into particles the size of small peas.
- Sprinkle ice water over top of mixture and mix with a fork.
- Push all the large clumps of flour to one side and continue sprinkling mixture until all flour is moistened and mixed into large clumps.
- Knead clumps together into a smooth ball. Wrap and chill until ready to use.
