Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1/4 c. chopped onions
  • 2 cans pork and beans
  • 1/4 c. tomato ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of garlic powder

Method

  • Saute the bacon until almost crisp.
  • Add the chopped onions; continue to saute until bacon is crisp.
  • Drain fat.
  • Combine bacon, onions, pork and beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
  • Pour into a 1-quart casserole.
  • Bake, uncovered, in a 375° oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until beans are hot.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Serves 6.
  • Makes about 3 1/2 cups.
