Ingredients
- 1 cup Bisquick mix
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pinch of baking powder
- About an inch of vegetable oil in a heavy fry pan for frying the dough strips.
- Good corn syrup for dipping the rolkuchen in
- and, last but not an option, slices of watermelon!!
Method
- Mix together the Bisquick, flour, egg, salt and baking powder, squeezing the dough till its a sticky glump!!
- Heavily flour the table, turn the dough onto it and kneed the flour in, roll out to 1/2" thick. Cut into two inch strips by about 6" long, then cut a long slit in to the 6" long strip, pull one end through the slit, making a 'bowtie'. Fry in hot oil just till golden, drain. Serve stacked in a large bowl, eat while still hot!!
