Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 lb. (1 c.) soft butter
  • 1 1/4 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 (6 oz. each) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Method

  • Sift flour, soda and salt together.
  • Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, beating until light.
  • Gradually add flour mixture, beating until smooth.
  • Add chocolate bits and nuts.
