Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Melt butter and chocolate together.
  • In separate bowl, beat eggs; add salt and sugar.
  • Mix in melted butter and chocolate. Stir in flour, baking powder and nuts.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Bake in a buttered 9 x 7-inch pan at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in square comes out clean.
  • I usually double this recipe.
  • May be kept in freezer for unplanned treats.
