Ingredients

  • 1 cake or pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. orange rind
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. scalded milk (optional)
  • 1 c. golden raisins
  • 1 c. nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Method

  • Combine yeast and water; set aside.
  • Mix all ingredients, adding yeast mixture last.
  • Knead.
  • Cover and let stand 1 hour. Beat down mixture; let rise 1 more hour. Place in loaf pan.
  • Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
