Ingredients

  • 4 boxes frozen green beans (French style or cut)
  • 1 large jar sliced mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 tsp. Tabasco
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts

Method

  • Cook beans; drain well. Cook onions in butter until wilted and tender but not brown. Add mushrooms. Add flour; mix well, then add milk and stir until thickened. Add cheese; stir until smooth. Add seasonings and mix in beans and chestnuts. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
