- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
- 1/3 c. pearl barley
- 1 Tbsp. beef bouillon granules
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 medium carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 4 to 5 c. water
Method
- In large Dutch oven, brown the beef.
- Drain well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Season to taste (salt, pepper, garlic, etc.).
