Ingredients

  • 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter or margarine
  • 1 to 2 pkg. graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 small pkg. coconut
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • While the oven is heating, melt butter or margarine in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan in the oven.
  • Cover the melted butter with the graham cracker crumbs and press into a crust.
  • Sprinkle the chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts over the crust.
  • Pour the condensed milk over the top.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until slightly brown.
  • Cool completely before cutting into bars.
  • Refrigerate to keep the bars firm.
