Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 tbsp. hot water
- 5 tbsp. sugar
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 5 c. plain flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Dissolve the yeast in the hot water and set aside.
- Combine the baking pwdr, salt, baking soda and flour.
- Cut in shortening; add in the buttermilk, sugar and yeast mix.
- Knead the dough slightly.
- Put in a covered bowl and chill till chilled.
- Roll out dough and cut.
- Bake biscuits very slowly at 200 degree till golden.
