Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • mushrooms to taste
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round (drain any grease)
  • 1/2 c. cooking sherry
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian dressing
  • salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste

Method

  • Saute onion, celery and carrot in olive oil until onions are transparent.
  • Add mushrooms to taste.
  • Separately, brown ground round.
  • Drain any grease.
  • Add cooking sherry.
  • Cook slowly until evaporated, then combine with first ingredients.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato puree, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • May need a little water added.
  • Serve over spaghetti or favorite pasta.
