Ingredients

  • 1 fryer, cut up
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 c. Crisco oil

Method

  • Heat oil in heavy skillet on medium.
  • Season fryer.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Drop egg on fryer.
  • Mix, coating every piece.
  • Place one at a time into flour, coating each piece.
  • Drop, skin side up, into medium hot oil.
  • Fry 3 minutes.
  • Turn and fry 3 more minutes. Cover with lid.
  • Check fryer and turn 3 or 4 times every 4 minutes.
  • Uncover and let chicken get golden brown and crispy.
