Ingredients

  • vegetable oil (enough to cover bottom of pan)
  • 1 medium onion (cut in half)
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 4 teaspoons chicken bouillon powder

Method

  • Heat oil in a medium sized pan.
  • put onion in oil, let fry for about 3 minutes.
  • add rice and let rice brown for about 10 minutes (stir every 2 minutes).
  • once rice is brown, add the water, tomato sauce and bouillon.
  • bring to a boil.
  • once it is boiling, turn heat to low.
  • cover and let cook until water is absorbed.
  • after water is gone, turn off heat and leave cover on.
  • let rice sit for about 30 minutes, do not open lid until the rice has sat for 30 minutes.
  • serve and enjoy.
