Ingredients

  • 1-lb. lean round steak, trimmed
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided
  • 1 (10-oz.) can mushroom pieces, drained
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. chili sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 (9-oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans, cooked, drained
  • 1(8-oz.) pkg. egg noodles, cooked, drained and buttered

Method

  • Cut steak into strips. Heat 3 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions, saute until tender, about 2 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon. Add remaining butter to skillet and add steak. Saute for 5 minutes or until browned. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes or until steak is tender. Blend flour with cold water, stir into skillet. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and return mushrooms and onion to skillet. Add green beans to skillet and mix well. Heat thoroughly, do not boil. Serve hot over buttered noodles. May also serve over cooked rice. Serves 6.
