Ingredients

  • 1 plastic drinking straw
  • 8 individually wrapped , Cherry and Pineapple Flavors (sold in bag)
  • 1 piece ribbon, yarn or shoestring licorice (about 6 to 8 inch)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325F.
  • Cover baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Cut a 1-1/2-inch-long piece from straw; set aside.
  • Discard remaining length of straw.
  • Unwrap candies; arrange in 6-inch-long candy cane shape on prepared baking sheet, alternating the candy flavors.
  • Bake 3 min.
  • or until candies are just melted.
  • (Watch carefully through oven door and remove candy ornament from oven as soon as the candies are melted.)
  • Remove ornament from oven.
  • Spray one end of the straw piece with cooking spray.
  • Use to make a hole about 1/2 inch from the top of the ornament by pressing the straw into the ornament.
  • Let stand until ornament is completely cooled, frequently twisting the straw to prevent the straw from sticking to the ornament.
  • Gently remove the straw.
  • Thread the ribbon through the hole in the top of the ornament to use for hanging.
