Ingredients
- 2 gal. sliced cucumbers (any size)
- 3 gal. water
- 3 c. hydrated lime
- 1/2 gal. vinegar
- 4 lb. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
- 1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
- 1 tsp. celery seed
Method
- In a 5 gallon stone churn or larger, put 3 gallons water and 3 cups lime (hydrated).
- Stir.
- Slice cucumbers 1/4-inch thick.
- Put in the lime water.
- Let set 24 hours and wash through 3 waters and cover with water and let stand overnight.
