Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean beef
- 3 onions
- 1 carrot
- 2/3 qt. water
- 1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- sprinkle of thyme
- 1 large bay leaf
- salt and pepper to taste
- flour
- oil for browning beef
Method
- Cut meat into 2 to 3-inch pieces.
- Dust with flour; saute in oil.
- Add chopped onions and carrot; brown lightly.
- Add water and seasonings.
- The meat should be covered.
- Simmer covered for 2 hours or until tender.
- Serve with boiled potatoes.
- Serves 6.
