Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Stir in eggs, one at a time.
- Beat well.
- Add dry ingredients with cream.
- Mix well.
- Chill.
- Form into large balls.
- Drop in pan with granulated sugar; coat well. Shape with bottom of cup or glass.
- Be sure and keep dough chilled.
- This is the secret, not to roll the dough.
- Bake in a 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Yields 6 dozen.
