Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 1/2 lb. Polish sausage, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans sauerkraut
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 8 oz. pkg. medium noodles
  • 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 c. whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter

Method

  • Rinse kraut with cold water.
  • Press to drain well.
  • Combine onion, soup, milk and mustard in bowl.
  • Blend well.
  • Spread kraut in 13 x 9-inch greased baking dish.
  • Top with sausage, then cheese.
  • Mix crumbs and butter.
  • Sprinkle over top.
  • Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour until noodles are tender.
