Ingredients
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 1 c. medium white sauce
- 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 c. buttered bread crumbs
Method
- Cook large pieces of cabbage in boiling salted water for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Do not overcook.
- Drain cabbage.
- Cut off thick stems and cut into small pieces.
- While cabbage is cooking, prepare the buttered crumbs and white sauce.
- When last portion of milk is added to sauce, add the cheese.
- When cheese is melted, layer cabbage and sauce in a greased baking dish.
- Top with buttered crumbs and bake 20 minutes at 350°.
