Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 5 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 whole Small Green Bell Peppers, Seeded And Chopped
  • 1 whole Habanero Pepper, Seeded And Chopped
  • 2 pounds Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 envelope Instant Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 2 teaspoons Seasoned Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke Flavoring
  • 2 cans Diced Tomatoes With Green Chile Peppers (14.5 Ounces Each)
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (8 Oz)
  • 1 can Kidney Beans (15 Oz)
  • 1/2 cans Cheap Beer (12 Oz Can)
  • 1/2 cups Canned Whole Kernel Corn
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Pepper Sauce

Method

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, green peppers, and habanero, and cook for a few minutes until the onion is transparent.
  • In a separate pan, brown the ground turkey over medium heat until it is browned, then add the turkey to the larger pot with the vegetables.
  • Add the chili powder, red pepper, paprika, cumin, oregano, black pepper, hot chocolate mix, seasoned salt, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, diced tomatoes with chilis, tomato sauce, and kidney beans (whew!). Open the can of beer, and pour in 1/3 to 1/2 into your pot... then feel free to drink the rest! Stir well. Leave the pot uncovered and simmer for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix in the corn and hot pepper sauce, then simmer an additional 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving.
  • The leftovers are even better the next day, after the flavors really get friendly-don't hesitate to make it a day in advance!
