Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. egg noodles
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 lb. ground beef chuck
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. chopped green onion
  • 3/4 c. shredded cheese

Method

  • Cook noodles according to instructions.
  • Rinse and drain. Melt butter in skillet.
  • Stir in meat and cook.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, salt, garlic salt and pepper.
  • Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Fold together noodles, cottage cheese, sour cream and onion.
  • Put half of this mixture in bottom of 2 1/2-quart casserole, then 1/2 meat mixture on it and repeat layers.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
