Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 egg
  • 1 box confectioners sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 qt. fresh strawberries or peaches
  • 1 box vanilla wafers (small), crushed
  • 1 pt. whipping cream

Method

  • Spread 1/4-inch layer of vanilla wafer crumbs in a glass 9 x 13-inch dish.
  • Mix first 5 ingredients until smooth.
  • Spread mixture over crumbs.
  • Pile well drained dry fruit over this. Press gently. Spread whipped cream over the fruit.
  • Sprinkle remaining vanilla wafer crumbs on top.
  • Chill overnight. Cut into squares and serve cold.
  • Makes 20 servings.
