Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1/3 c. finely chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly

Method

  • Mix beef, bread, onion, milk, parsley, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Shape mixture in one-inch balls.
  • Melt shortening in a skillet and brown the meatballs.
  • Pour off the fat.
  • Heat chili sauce and grape jelly until melted.
  • Add meatballs, stir gently but thoroughly.
  • Simmer for 30 minutes in an open cooker.
