- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1/3 c. finely chopped onions
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
- 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly
Method
- Mix beef, bread, onion, milk, parsley, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
- Shape mixture in one-inch balls.
- Melt shortening in a skillet and brown the meatballs.
- Pour off the fat.
- Heat chili sauce and grape jelly until melted.
- Add meatballs, stir gently but thoroughly.
- Simmer for 30 minutes in an open cooker.
