Ingredients
- 5 cups water
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 10 black tea bags
- Pinch baking soda
- Water, to taste
- Bourbon, to taste
- Peach schnapps, to taste
- Fresh lemon juice, to taste
Method
- Combine all of the tea ingredients to a large pot over medium heat.
- The baking soda will darken the syrup and reduce the bitterness.
- Bring the mixture to a boil stirring to dissolve the sugar and extracting as much tea as possible.
- Once the mixture is boiling, remove the pot from the heat and let steep until cooled.
- Remove and discard the tea bags and reserve the sweet tea syrup.
- In a large container combine the sweet tea syrup and add water, to taste.
- Add remaining ingredients, bourbon, peach schnapps and lemon juice, also to desired taste.
