Ingredients
- 2 qt. sliced green tomatoes
- 2 qt. sliced cabbage
- 2 red peppers, chopped
- 2 green peppers, chopped
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 Tbsp. whole allspice
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. salt
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 qt. vinegar
Method
- Combine tomatoes and 2 tablespoons salt.
- Let stand overnight. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Combine turmeric, allspice, sugar, 2 tablespoons salt, mustard seed and vinegar.
- Boil 10 minutes.
- Add vegetables and cook 30 minutes.
- Seal.
- Makes 5 pints.
