Ingredients
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. soft margarine
- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. sugar
Method
- Dissolve yeast in water in large mixer bowl.
- Add buttermilk, eggs, 2 1/2 cups flour, margarine, sugar, baking powder and salt. Blend on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping sides of bowl.
- Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
- Stir in remaining flour.
- Knead for 5 minutes or about 200 turns on lightly floured board.
- Shape as desired.
- Let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. (Dough is ready to bake if slight dent remains when touched.) Bake at 350°.
