Ingredients
- 3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. butter, optional
Method
- Mix
- flour, salt, sugar and cocoa.
- Beat egg yolks well and add the milk, beating until well mixed.
- Then add gradually
- to the dry ingredients, mixing well.
- Cook until thickened (easier if double boiler is used).
- Be sure to cook several minutes after
- the mixture
- thickens,
- stirring
- constantly. Remove
- from fire,
- add vanilla and butter.
- Beat well.
- Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue or whipped cream.
