Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
  • 1 qt. + 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 9 fresh eggs
  • 1 qt. + 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. + 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 2 1/4 c. walnut pieces
  • 2 1/4 c. flaked coconut

Method

  • Mix powdered sugar, shortening and softened butter together. Stir in flour.
  • Press in ungreased 18 x 26-inch bun pan.
  • Bake in 350° conventional oven and 325° in convection oven, until just golden brown, about 12 minutes.
  • Oven temperatures vary and you may need to adjust cooking time to your oven.
