Ingredients
- 3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 pt. sour cream
- 1 tsp. plus 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
- 4 egg whites
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Beat cream cheese until fluffy; add 2 tablespoons of sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla and almond flavoring.
- Beat egg whites separately adding 1 cup sugar gradually.
- Beat until stiff, then fold into cheese mixture; pour into spring-form pan lined with crust and bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
- Remove from oven; let stand 5 minutes, then mix remaining sour cream with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; spread on cake and top with remaining crumbs.
- Bake additional 5 minutes at 425°.
- Cool away from drafts; chill and remove sides of pan.
- Serves 10 to 12.
