Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/3 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 3/4 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. flavoring
  • food coloring
  • sugar

Method

  • Combine shortening, syrup, egg white, 1 pound confectioners sugar, flavoring and food coloring in mixer bowl; beat well.
  • Beat in as much remaining confectioners sugar as needed to make a stiff consistency.
  • Shape into balls; roll into sugar.
  • Press into candy molds.
  • Let dry for a day.
  • May be frozen.
  • Mint mixture can be divided for different flavoring and color.
