- 1 2/3 lb. dressed and cut up chicken
- 1/2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. Tabasco
- 1 c. ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. salt
Method
- Brown chicken in fat.
- Combine other ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes to make sauce.
- Place browned pieces of chicken in baking pan and pour sauce over it.
- Put into medium oven at 350° and bake, uncovered, for an hour, basting frequently.
- Test drumstick for doneness and if pink meat shows, bake for 15 minutes more.
- Serves 4 to 6.
