Ingredients
- 1 stick oleo
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can coconut (1 1/3 c.)
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Method
- Cream oleo, oil and sugar.
- Beat well.
- Add egg yolks one at a time.
- Sift flour and soda.
- Add with buttermilk and beat well. Add coconut, nuts and vanilla.
- Fold in beaten egg whites.
- Put in 3 (8-inch) layer pans, greased, and bake at 350° until brown (about 25 minutes).
