Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread
  • margarine
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. half and half
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Remove crust from bread and spread with margarine.
  • Place in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Brown sausage, drain well and crumble over bread.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Combine eggs, half and half and salt.
  • Mix well, pour over sausage and cheese.
  • Cover and chill overnight.
  • Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes or until set. Serves 8.
