Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. meat per person (steak, lamb, veal or pork)
  • 2 tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered or tiny whole onions
  • 1 green pepper, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 8 mushrooms, caps and stems separated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oregano
  • 1 lemon (juice only)

Method

  • Cube meat into 1-inch pieces. Wash and prepare vegetables. Skewer each one in order:
  • green pepper, mushroom stem, onion, meat, tomato and continue until skewer is 3/4 full.
  • Cap with mushroom.
  • Lay in a flat pan and sprinkle with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Broil 5 minutes on one side. Turn and broil 4 minutes on the other side.
  • Can serve on rice pilaf.
