Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Spanish Rice-A-Roni, browned as directed on pkg.
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 8 oz. mild Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Method

  • Add ground beef and Rice-A-Roni and mix.
  • Add seasonings; simmer on low heat until all liquid is absorbed.
  • Put 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan and half of shredded cheeses on top of mixture.
  • Alternate with mixture and cheeses again.
  • Bake at 350°.
