Ingredients

  • 6 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. apple juice
  • 1 1/2 c. Minute rice
  • 1 c. chunky applesauce

Method

  • Dredge pork chops in flour, salt, pepper and cloves.
  • Brown chops on both sides in butter in large skillet.
  • Add 1/2 cup apple juice; cover and simmer until chops are tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Keep chops warm in serving platter.
  • Bring remaining juice to boil; stir in rice.
  • Cover and reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
  • Stir in applesauce.
  • Place chops on rice to serve.
  • Makes 4 to 6 servings.
