Ingredients
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 1 tsp. margarine or butter
- 1 Tbsp. minced parsley
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 c. chicken consomme or 1 chicken bouillon cube
- salt to taste
- caraway seed
Method
- Remove core from the cabbage.
- Cut into bite sized pieces. Melt margarine in a large skillet.
- Put in cabbage, parsley, sugar, pepper and consomme.
- Cover and cook over moderate heat about 12 minutes, basting with the pan juices several times.
- About 1 minute before the cabbage is done, sprinkle with caraway seed.
- Remove cabbage to a serving dish.
- Pour the pan liquid over the cabbage. Yields 6 servings.
