Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp. dill seed
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 1 c. creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour

Method

  • Soften yeast in water.
  • Combine in bowl cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda, egg and yeast.
  • Add flour in 2 additions, beating well.
  • Let rise until light and doubled (50 to 60 minutes).
  • Stir down dough.
  • Turn into well-greased casserole 8 inches round.
  • Let rise until light (30 to 40 minutes).
  • Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.
  • Brush with butter and sprinkle with salt.
