Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 7/8 c. sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 3 large peaches

Method

  • Mix butter, flour, baking powder, salt and 2 tablespoons sugar with pastry cutter until like corn meal. Save 1 cup of this for topping.
  • Pat the rest into the bottom of an 8-inch square pan. Place peaches, cut into slices, over crust. Sprinkle with 7/8 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake 20 minutes at 400°. Mix egg yolks and sour cream.
  • Pour over kuchen and bake 30 minutes more.
  • Cool.
  • Good warm or cold.
