Ingredients

  • 1 cabbage
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 4 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. vinegar

Method

  • Shred cabbage. Slice onions. Place on top of cabbage. Sprinkle with 2 cups sugar. Put oil, vinegar, dry mustard, celery seed, salt and 4 teaspoons sugar in pan; bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage. Cover with lid or foil to steam. Allow to cool and refrigerate 4 hours before serving.
