Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 pkg. premelted chocolate
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Bake cake mix according to directions in a jelly roll size pan, or a cookie sheet with 1-inch sides.
  • Cook flour and milk until thick.
  • Let cool.
  • Combine sugar, Crisco and 1 stick of butter.
  • Cream well with mixer.
  • Add to cooled mixture.
  • Mix until creamy.
  • Spread on slightly warm cake.
  • Mix other stick of butter with remaining ingredients.
  • Spread on cooled cake and add chopped nuts, if desired.
