Ingredients

  • 1 round/oval loaf French bread
  • 1/3 c. olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. Brie cheese

Method

  • With serrated knife, cut hollow into bread 1/2-inch away from sides and bottom; remove from loaf.
  • Cut piece which has been removed from loaf into strips, 1 to 1 1/2-inch wide strips.
  • Mix oil and garlic.
  • Brush inside of shell and bread slices.
  • Place cut up cheese in bread shell.
  • Place filled shell and slices in a single layer on a 10 x 15-inch pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 350°. Remove bread slices.
  • Cook filled shell 10 minutes more and serve with grapes.
  • Serves 10 to 12 people.
