Ingredients
- 2 cups flour, all-purpose or whole wheat
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packaged
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 1/4 cups oats, quick cooking
- 3/4 cup milk or low-fat, non-fat
Method
- In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in oats and milk just until moistened.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface.
- Roll to 3/4 in.

- Bake at 375F (190C) F for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
